Hilton The Hague - King Corner Studio
A contemporary hotel with nice rooms and relatively close to the main attractions in The Hague. The price was also wallet-friendly too!

We took an Uber to The Hague (Den Haag in dutch), in which although pricey, was less troublesome than taking the train (another alternative, more on that in the next blog post). After roughly an hour on the road, we arrived at an unassuming building that signalled our arrival to our hotel at Den Haag: the aptly named Hilton The Hague.
Damage: The cost was 160 EUR per night, for a 2-night stay. With my Hilton Diamond status, we received the following benefits:
Complimentary breakfast
Complimentary room upgrade to King Corner Studio (from base level room)
Early check-in and late check-out were available, though we didn't utilize either benefit due to our early flight on the check-out day.
Check-In
The hotel's interior was quite different from what we anticipated when we stepped into the lobby! Beneath the traditional building facade, the lobby had a modern and refreshed vibe, and it would not look out of place with the younger crowd (not that we're that old ourselves 😆)
Check-in was relatively straightforward, and my Diamond benefits were promptly recognized, including the free breakfast and late checkout.
Room
The 42sqm King Corner Studio Room felt more spacious than expected, perhaps due to the efficient use of the existing space. Although the decor made the room somewhat dark due to limited lighting (possibly intentional as part of the room's design?), the strategic placement of the furniture and bed mitigated this issue.
As expected from Hilton Serenity Beds (typically crafted by Serta and renowned for their exceptional comfort and quality), the high standards were maintained and the missus and I enjoyed a wonderful night's sleep overall. I also appreciated the padded cushion on the bed frame that allowed me to lie back while sitting up on the bed.
There was 1 main and 1 USB charging outlet (through the digital clock) on one side of the bed, while there was no USB charging outlet on the other side. This could be a major inconvenience to the other party, depending on your reliance on electronics. Well, at least we decided who sleeps on which side! 😝
The sofa area had a standing light which was useful for reading (hint: magazines on table), and it was positioned near the window, allowing plenty of natural light during the day.
Speaking of the window, it offered decent views of the city on both day and night, though the roof of the adjacent building slightly marred the view.
Moving to the middle of the room, there was a work desk area that would have been conducive for getting some productive work done.
Additionally, there was a generously sized mini bar and wardrobe area, with the wardrobe being large enough to accommodate our luggage and still provide ample moving space. Space was definitely not an issue here!
Bathroom
The theme of spaciousness extended into the bathroom, featuring a bathtub and a rain shower positioned on opposite sides. How is this Studio only 42sqm?
The new Crabtree & Evelyn bathroom amenities were provided in non-detachable bottle dispensers, and I am definitely not a fan of the scent. I wonder if anyone else shares this sentiment or prefers this scent over the previous version? Feel free to share your thoughts!
No bidets available in the bathroom.
Lounge
Here I must apologize: due to my sickness, I didn't really manage to take any pictures of the Executive Lounge. However, Travelorama did a great review in his blog post.
The Executive Lounge is located at Level 5, and unfortunately, we didn't manage to access the terrace during our visit.
We attended the evening cocktails, and the food and alcohol spread was great.
Food
Thanks to my Hilton Diamond status, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast during our stay. Hilton Gold members also receive complimentary breakfast as part of their benefits.
Breakfast was served at the main restaurant, BlueBlood. On both days, we went super early at 7am and it was still super dark outside 😆
Before reaching the entrance, you will walk past the BlueBlood Bar, which looked really exquisite.
This was one of the more memorable Hilton breakfasts that we have experienced! The breakfast quality and variety were top-notch, and the seatings were also very nice , creating a comfortable ambience. It also helped that there weren't many people; on the second day, we had the whole place to ourselves 😮
There was also a made-to-order menu that you could choose from and hand to your server. The selection included eggs (fried eggs or omelette, with your choice of ingredients) and sweet items. The pancakes were especially nice, tasting just like those you'd find in a decent cafe!
Facilities
We didn't use the facilities, but there was a Fitness Centre that was well-equipped and available for guests to maintain their fitness routine (not that we really needed it after exploring Den Haag all day!).
Service
A special note on the breakfast staff, they were super friendly and attentive without being overly chatty, allowing us to enjoy our privacy. This added to the positive impression that made this one of the best Hilton breakfasts that we have experienced!
Many thanks also to the reservations team for upgrading us to the King Corner Studio Room (though my Hilton Diamond status certainly helped).
Side note
Regarding the hotel surroundings, the decor was quite beautiful with the evening lights (which seemed to be a permanent fixture), making it a delightful area for a stroll. We really enjoyed taking leisurely strolls around the vicinity.
Conclusion
I was glad that I chose Hilton The Hague as our main hotel in Den Haag. It offers a great location, reasonable pricing, nice rooms, and overall excellent service. Highly recommend to include breakfast with your room!
With that, it was time to begin our (longgggg) journey back to Singapore, but not before visiting a city that holds fond memories for me and was the starting point of my travel adventures. Stay tuned!
