Hilton Frankfurt City Centre - Junior Suite

An even nicer stay than the previous one! At the Junior Suite

Back to the city and hotel where I first started on my solo travels. A much more luxurious room with beautiful winter city views and lounge access this time!

Landing at Frankfurt Airport about 1.5 hours later, I definitely felt a sense of familiarity, but not so for the missus😆 . No security check to go through before exiting!

As we were carrying heavy luggage, I decided to take a Uber to the hotel at the city centre, unlike last time. Although Uber isn't cheap, the convenience of not having to move around with heavy bags made it worth the cost!

Damage: 248EUR for the standard double room, which was upgraded to a Junior Suite, thanks to my Hilton Diamond status.

Check-In

The lobby of Hilton Frankfurt City Centre was modern and spacious, with lots of natural light streaming through the glass ceiling.

There was a minimal queue, and the check-in process was very smooth. I was delighted to learn that my request for a suite upgrade had been granted! Additionally, we were given a late check-out at 4pm, allowing us plenty of time to sightsee and return to pack our luggage, before heading to Frankfurt Airport.

Room

The Junior Suite is not super huge (there was only a small amount of space to walk around after opening our luggage), but is much larger than the standard double room. I also liked the decor, featuring cozy wooden flooring and contemporary artwork above the bed.

There was ample cushioned seating near the window, allowing you to enjoy the room's highlight—the view—from any position you prefer (just don't be too exhibitionist 🤣).

There was also a lounger that I didn't use much, as I was mostly nursing my illness and sleeping on the bed, but the missus enjoyed it.

As mentioned, I had hoped to enjoy the bed better, given my preference for Hilton mattresses. The missus also slept through the night despite my constant waking up, which further confirmed the bed’s quality.

With regards to the mini bar, there was also a Nespresso machine with capsules provided.

I previously also reviewed the TV, which was pretty basic and with a mix of English and German TV channels.

Bathroom

As per my previous stay, the bathroom was quite similarly sized to the standard double room. I liked the decor of the bathroom, with rustic golden accents on the sinks and rails.

While there was no bathtub, the rain shower heated up pretty quickly, a nice welcome in the cold winter weather.

No bidet too, but toilet rolls were sufficient for 2 pax.

Bathroom amenities were from Crabtree and Evelyn, and sadly feature the newer version in fixed pump bottles. I still prefer the old Lemon and Verbana scent, compared to the current version! Not to mention that they were also provided in the convenient, take-away small bottles 😉

Lounge

We stayed at the lounge level, and interestingly this lounge has 2 levels, although each level wasn’t particularly large. Guests can access both levels through a flight of stairs.

We attended the evening cocktails, and while the lounge offerings were of good quality, the variety was limited, primarily consisting of vegetarian options and pumpkin soup.

The selection of alcohol was also limited, although there were copious amounts provided.

Breakfast

Complimentary breakfast was provided courtesy of my Hilton Diamond status, and breakfast was served at the main restaurant in the lobby. I had reviewed it before during my first visit, and once again, the quality was good for a continental breakfast buffet. This time, there were no surprises from the waitress when I asked for a second cup of Long Black! 😆

Facilities

The hotel gym and pool are shared with Fitness First, located in the same building. We didn't visit the gym and pool ((I was still not in shape to exercise, and my wife is allergic to exercise 😆), but based on the website pictures, they seem to be pretty functional. I particularly liked the indoor swimming pool, which looked pretty large and ideal for swimming laps.

Service

Overall service was friendly and it was great that the check-in staff helped to ensure that we secured the room upgrade, and allowing us to check out late at 4pm. This maximised our stay in Frankfurt, before our flight later that night. Great!

Took some nice time lapse videos while packing our luggage!

Conclusion

My second stay at Hilton Frankfurt City Centre was once again excellent. With the nice rooms and great service, it will definitely be my go-to choice for future stays in Frankfurt. Danke schön!
